ed2go: Providing high school & college degrees, accredited online courses
It is true that ed2go has more courses then Springboard, but that is not the whole story.

ed2go: Providing high school & college degrees, accredited online courses Springboard: One on one mentoring that keeps you on track with in-depth courses that fully teach the subject.

Springboard: One on one mentoring that keeps you on track with in-depth courses that fully teach the subject.
ed2go does not let just anyone teach their courses, but instead have a strict policy to only allow the best teachers to create one of their courses. Springboard is a learning platform that will allow any expert on a subject to create their own courses, as long as they pass a basic screening process. ed2go has better consistency and higher quality courses in general compared to Springboard because ed2go has fewer course creators who were screened heavily, while Springboard allows anyone to create courses.

The ed2go platform covers all the subjects which we write about here LearnOnline.shop. While Springboard doesn't offer courses in all the categories we track, they do cover Information Technology, Programming & Coding, Creativity & Design, Data Science, and a few other things.

ed2go has more courses in more categories, but the real reason for that is because Springboard has a limited number of mentors on staff who are trained in a specific field. You wouldn’t want your one-on-one mentor to not know the subject you’re studying! This human resource constraint is what limits the number of courses and categories Springboard can cover, but it also means that they focus on fewer subjects and therefore are able to make very high quality courses.

Course Quality Review

Winner: Tied
Springboard and ed2go have similiar quality courses.
Both Springboard and ed2go have high quality courses, but neither of them stand-out against each other in these regards. Rest assured, choosing either service means high quality courses in general.

Course Selection Review

Winner: ed2go
ed2go has more courses than Springboard.
ed2go has more courses than Springboard. Even though ed2go limits the number of course creators on their platform, while Springboard does not, ed2go manages to have more courses despite this!

Learning Platform Review

Winner: ed2go
It was slightly easier to follow along & learn using ed2go
When I talk about platforms, I am talking about the ways that the site teaches you, like video tutorials, interactive projects and hands-on testing, as well as awarding certificates. I really like the Springboard platform, but not as much as the learning experience provided by ed2go. I do think both platforms are great ways to learn, but I found ed2go better suited towards teaching me effectively.

User Experience Review

Winner: Tied
Both ed2go and Springboard have a good user experience.
When we review the platform, we are looking at the learning angles of the experience, but for the User Experience Review we look at everything else, including the sign-up process, the wait-times, the quality of courses, support, emails, billing and more. Fortunately, both of these websites provide a great overall user experience. The user interfaces are logical enough, signing up is straight forward, support staff reply within a business day and billing is exactly what you would expect. Since neither platform sticks out from the other in these regards, this one is a tie in our books.

Value Proposition Review

Winner: ed2go
ed2go offers a better value for most learners.
This is a tough category to judge because value is so subjective and some platforms are better values in certain situations but not others. To that end, in our opinion ed2go seems to be the better value for most people, although there are some arguments for Springboard being a great value as well.

Overall Review

Final Thoughts

No two platforms are the same and comparing ed2go vs Springboard clearly illustrates this. At the end of the day, you’re going to have to decide which service is the best fit for your educational needs.

Since I make a recommendation in these reviews, I try to choose the service that I feel has the greater mass appeal. While both of these elearning sites are great, ed2go is our recommendation, because they work on bringing high school and college courses to the masses, but for those who need a helping hand, Springboard might be the better choice. Either way, these services are worth your consideration.

Hopefully my comparison review has helped you. Let me know either way in the comments below. Thanks for reading and happy learning!
