The ed2go platform covers all the subjects which we write about here LearnOnline.shop. Codecademy only provides courses on Programming & Coding, but that is why they excel at teaching it.

If you’re looking to study anything other than coding, you should be looking at ed2go and other e-learning platforms. However, if you are looking to learn how to code, both services have solutions for you.

ed2go is more hands-on with the actual software development stack that you use in the real-world, while Codecademy provides a virtual coding environment directly in the browser, which does help you focus on learning coding, but does take away from your real-world understanding of how to practically deploy your code in the real-world.

ed2go consistently has the higher quality courses.
In my opinion, while both services offer high quality courses, the victor has to be ed2go because they consistently have higher quality courses when compared to Codecademy. Learning Platform Review

Winner: Tied
Both Codecademy & ed2go did a good job teaching.
When I talk about platforms, I am talking about the ways that the site teaches you, like video tutorials, interactive projects and hands-on testing, as well as awarding certificates. Both ed2go and Codecademy provide amazing learning experiences with their platforms. They are both equally matched in these regards, so I am declaring this a tie.

User Experience Review

Winner: Codecademy
Codecademy has a slightly better user experience.
When we review the platform, we are looking at the learning angles of the experience, but for the User Experience Review we look at everything else, including the sign-up process, the wait-times, the quality of courses, support, emails, billing and more. As an end user, I found ed2go to be a good experience, but the user experience overall using Codecademy was better. I definitely recommend them both, but Codecademy is the winner in this category.

Winner: ed2go
ed2go offers a better value for most learners.
This is a tough category to judge because value is so subjective and some platforms are better values in certain situations but not others. To that end, in our opinion ed2go seems to be the better value for most people, although there are some arguments for Codecademy being a great value as well.

Overall Review

Out of these two great services, Codecademy is our choice.
When I write reviews, I like to clearly outline the better choice. In this case, we have two great services, but Codecademy managed to take the victory. Final Thoughts

Comparing ed2go VS Codecademy is difficult because they are both are drastically different from each other, serve different purposes and cater to specifrc audiences.

If you’re trying to learn how to code, then Codecademy is my recommendation because they focus only on teaching programming and nothing else. ed2go is still a good resource to learn coding, but it’s more of a generic learning platform that happens to have some decent coding courses.

No matter which service you choose, they both provide high quality learning platforms that can help you learn new skills and advance your career.
