About the Author

Hi there! My name is J. Allen Quindlen and I’m the creator of this website.

I’m from the Pacific Northwest and currently live in Spokane, WA in the United States.

I run a company called BLACK LODGE GAMES, LLC where I work on role playing games. I also help local businesses with IT and other tech related consulting.

I was always into computers from my childhood onwards and was intrigued to try and get CompTIA certification… until I actually tried to. Back then, it meant buying books and studying hard.

Over the years, IT certifications gradually shifted towards online certs, which meant buying courses and studying hard. I would say that nothing has really changed… but that’s not true. It is easier than ever to get IT certifications.

After the great lockdown of 2020 started, most people around the world found themselves with more free time than they know what to do with. It was during the first week of lockdown that I decided to pursue some IT certifications. I started deep-diving into the subject and realized there was a need for actual reviews to figure out which learning platforms were best for certain things. Before I could stop myself, I had created a database full of MOOC characteristics and built this MOOC comparison tool.

Now I’m writing this about page a few months later. I’ve created over 80 pages and rushed through more courses than I should have (I already know all the topics though, so it’s more of a judgement about how well the teacher is covering the essentials.)

While I am the main author, I do work with freelance writers here and there. If you have experience taking courses or acquiring certifications and would like to write about it, please send me an email at admin@learnonline.shop
